The Project
New Hope Benin assists children in taking that first step toward by success by giving them the opportunity to attend school.
New Hope Benin currently supports both primary and secondary school students. Children are selected based on their need. Children who receive assistance from NHB have been orphaned or abandoned (by one or both parents) or have parents too poor to afford their education.
New Hope Benin focuses on community. The project was initiated by a Lokassa community member and continues to be staffed and directed by local community members. Children are supported to attend schools within the community.
By focusing on one community, New Hope Benin is able to maintain frequent contact with the students and their families, helping assuring student’s success.
New Hope Benin’s investment in students is an investment in families. As a project of Women’s Enterprises International, New Hope Benin understands that education is a step towards family empowerment. By providing student scholarships and support, New Hope Benin opens doors in the Lokassa community, creating new opportunities to assist women and parents with microenterprise and other programs aimed at overcoming poverty and achieving self-sufficiency.
